This Britannia Rails Picatinny base is machined specifically for the Tikka T1X, now one of the most popular rimfire rifles in the UK and Europe. It screws into the top of the rifle's action using the four screws provided and pulls securely down onto the dovetail without sliding, unlike some universal rails. Made to a true MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny profile, it gives a firm, stable lock onto the action so the rail accepts standard Picatinny and Weaver-compatible rings, red dot sights and thermal or night-vision mounts without an adapter. The four 6-48 action screws are driven with the T15 hex bit provided and go on with Vibra-Tite anti-vibration threadlock, which is supplied, so the fit stays solid under recoil. The rail carries a 0 MOA profile, sitting flat rather than adding elevation, which suits general stalking and target work. Machined in Great Britain from T6 aluminium to a 137mm length, it is finished with a hard-anodised coating that is weatherproof and scratch-resistant. Fitting is a straightforward drop-in job that needs no gunsmithing — line the rail up, drive in the four screws with the Vibra-Tite supplied, and the T1X is ready to mount an optic.
