The Caldwell E-Max Low Profile Behind The Neck Electronic Hearing Protection swaps the usual over-the-head band for a behind-the-neck design, keeping the profile low and giving a closer cheek weld when mounting a shotgun or rifle. The earmuffs amplify ambient sound by up to 20dB, with the level set by a volume dial on the right ear cup, making range commands, conversation and other environmental sounds easier to follow while you shoot. As soon as a sound crosses 85 decibels, the speakers cut out for a split second to protect your hearing from the shot itself before switching straight back on. A microphone in each cup delivers true stereo sound, helping the wearer localise where a sound is coming from, and an integrated audio input jack lets you plug in and listen to music or other audio between stands. Carrying a 21 NRR noise reduction rating, they run on two AAA batteries, not included, and suit shooters who want electronic hearing protection that stays out of the way of a cheek weld.
