The Hornady .321" 165 grain FTX® is a component projectile for handloaders loading .32-20 Winchester and similar .321" bore lever-gun cartridges. The FTX® (Flex Tip eXpanding) design uses a patented soft polymer tip that compresses into the hollow cavity on impact, initiating immediate and reliable expansion across a wide range of velocities — including the higher velocities produced by lever-action rifles. Crucially, the flexible tip is safe in tubular magazines, making it the practical choice for classic lever guns where pointed projectiles are prohibited. The one-piece, high-antimony lead core is mechanically locked to the jacket by an InterLock® ring, controlling expansion and retaining mass for deep penetration on game. A specially engineered heavy jacket over the shank adds structural integrity, while the ballistically efficient secant ogive profile delivers a flat trajectory and precise accuracy. Suitable for small to medium game at lever-gun ranges. Sold as component bullets for reloading — no FAC required in the UK.
