The Leofoto Azure AZ-235C is the taller, five-section model in the Azure travel range, paired here with the LH-30R low-profile ball head. Its 10-layer carbon fibre legs use an oval profile that nests around a Y-shaped centre column, so despite reaching 1612mm with the head fitted the kit folds down to just 486mm. Flip leg locks make set-up quick, and the legs can be set at four angles (23, 42, 62 and 82 degrees) to get low or to level up on uneven ground. Unscrew the rubber feet and built-in spikes are ready for soft ground, while the centre column can be inverted for low-angle and macro shots. The kit weighs around 1.5kg, goes down to 171mm and is rated to 10kg, which gives a comfortable margin for a mirrorless camera with a mid-range zoom, or for a compact spotting scope or binoculars on an Arca-Swiss style plate. The LH-30R head has a panorama scale for repeatable panning and a 1/4in accessory thread on the tripod for small add-ons.
