The Leofoto G3 is the compact member of Leofoto's 3D geared head range and combines the free movement of a ball head with the precision of a geared head. With the X and Y axes unlocked the camera moves freely, but each axis can also be adjusted on its own. Both tilts share one centre of rotation, keeping the pivot radius small so the composition holds while you fine-tune. With the locking levers set, gear-driven vertical and horizontal adjustments give fine control, while quick-release clutches allow fast, large moves. A separate 360 degree panning base sits at the bottom for alignment, and two spirit levels set at 90 degrees to each other are easy to read even from a low viewpoint. The clamp on top is Arca-Swiss compatible. At around 450g and 96mm tall, with a 50mm panning base and a 3/8 inch mounting thread, it is light enough for a travel tripod. It suits landscape, macro and close-up photographers who want precise framing, and anyone who needs to make fine, repeatable adjustments to the aim of a camera or other Arca-mounted equipment.
