The Leofoto GW-01 is a three-way geared head built for precise control of camera position, ideal for landscape photographers working the light at sunrise and sunset and for still-life work in the studio. It moves in three independent directions: it rotates a full 360 degrees, tilts 90 degrees forward or 30 degrees back, and tilts 90 degrees for portrait orientation. Each movement has its own controls. A star-shaped snap-lock knob frees the gears so you can swing the camera quickly into rough position, then the large twist knobs make fine geared adjustments to lock in the exact framing. Angle scales on each movement make it fast to repeat a set-up. The head comes with an Arca-compatible quick release plate, so it works with the wider Arca ecosystem of plates and brackets. Weighing around 1kg, rated for a maximum load of 8kg and mounting via a 3/8 inch thread, the GW-01 suits photographers who prefer the deliberate, axis-by-axis control of a geared head to the free movement of a ball head, and who want their framing to stay exactly where they put it.
