The Leofoto Poseidon LP-324C is a carbon tripod built to keep working where water, sand and grit would ruin an ordinary set of leg locks. Silica gel seals inside each twist lock keep dirt out of the threads, and the titanium foot spikes and fittings will not corrode after a day on the foreshore or in a burn. It makes a steady, low-maintenance base for a spotting scope, thermal or camera on the hill, the shore or the range.
The 10x layer carbon legs run 32/28/25/22mm in four sections, taking the tripod from 165mm at ground level to 1395mm, and folding to 580mm for carrying. It weighs 1.95kg with the head and supports up to 15kg. There is no centre column, so the platform sits directly on the leg joint for maximum stability.
The kit comes with Leofoto's LH-40 low-profile ballhead, which has independent tension control, laser-engraved panning marks every 2.5 degrees and an Arca-Swiss compatible QP-70N quick release plate. A 1/4in thread on the platform takes a magic arm or accessory, and a 3/8in hook underneath lets you hang a bag to weigh it down. Supplied with a padded carry bag, tools and spare feet.
