The Leofoto Ranger LS-223C is a pocketable three-section carbon fibre tripod for tabletop, ground-level and close-up work, supplied with the LH-25 mini ball head. It uses Leofoto's no-column design, with 10-layer carbon fibre legs (22/19/16mm), CNC-machined, hard-anodised 6061 aluminium parts and quarter-turn twist leg locks. Three leg angle stops let the legs splay right out, so you can work very close to the ground, and with the head fitted the kit covers roughly 118mm to 370mm. The legs alone are rated to 10kg, which makes them a very stable low platform. The LH-25 head has a 25mm ball, a 36mm panning base and a screw-knob Arca-Swiss style clamp with QR plate, and it is rated to 6kg. That makes the kit handy as a bench or bonnet-top support for binoculars or a compact spotting scope, for low-level wildlife and macro photography, or as a table stand in a hide. A 1/4in accessory socket under the apex takes small accessories, and the whole kit slips easily into a camera bag or rucksack side pocket.
