The Leofoto Summit LM-404C is the heavyweight of the standard-length Summit range: a four-section carbon fibre tripod with 40mm legs and a 100mm bowl, rated to 40kg. It is built for the largest telephoto lenses, big-objective spotting scopes and heavy video set-ups, where a smaller tripod would struggle to stay still. The legs are 10-layer carbon fibre, and Leofoto's safety lock system adds security when carrying heavy equipment. The hollowed-out spider keeps weight in check, and the 100mm bowl lets you fit a large fluid head and level it quickly, which makes it a strong choice for long sessions behind a spotting scope or for filming wildlife. The UK distributor lists a working height from 115mm up to 1780mm, so it goes from ground level to standing eye level without a centre column. Please note the tripod is supplied without a head, so pair it with a fluid, ball or gimbal head to suit your kit.
