The Leofoto Urban LX-284CT and XB-38 kit is a full-height carbon fibre travel tripod that still packs down small enough for a rucksack. The four-section legs are 10-layer Toray carbon fibre (28/25/22/19mm) with hard-anodised aluminium hardware, quick twist locks and a rubber leg wrap for a secure grip. With the head fitted the kit reaches 1687mm with the centre column extended or 1400mm with it down, folds to 470mm and weighs 1.66kg. A three-position angle stop system and a reversible centre column let you get down to 225mm, and a short centre column is included for ground-level work. The supplied XB-38 ball head has a 38mm ball, separate pan lock, a large main locking knob with inner tension control and a laser-engraved scale for accurate panning, and it takes Arca-Swiss style plates via the included BPL-50 plate. The kit is rated to 10kg, so it comfortably carries a camera and telephoto zoom, or a spotting scope or binoculars on an Arca-type plate for wildlife watching and stalking trips.
