The Leofoto VH-30R is a two-way tilting head designed for monopods carrying long telephoto lenses, and it is well suited to birdwatching and other wildlife work. The head tilts plus or minus 90 degrees, with adjustable tension so you can set how freely a heavy lens moves before you lock it with the large, easy-to-find locking lever. The 360 degree panning base has its own independent locking knob, and the VH-30R adds a panning clamp on top, giving a second rotation point right under the lens. Leofoto's spring-loaded knobs can be repositioned so they do not get in the way while you adjust. The Arca-Swiss compatible clamp is paired with an extra-long quick release plate, which gives plenty of room to slide a big lens forwards or backwards to find its balance point. Rated to 15kg and weighing around 447g, it gives stalkers, wildlife watchers and photographers a solid way to steady big glass on a monopod during long waits at a hide or on the hill. The 3/8 inch threaded base also lets it sit on a tripod when you want a fixed set-up.
