The Pixfra Ranger R435 is a 35mm-lens thermal imaging monocular built for stalking and pest control after dark. Its 384x288, 12µm Vanadium Oxide sensor delivers a detection range of up to 1800m, with 3.27x native magnification and up to 8x digital zoom for closer study of a heat source. An adjustable dioptre (-4D to +5D) lets the picture stay sharp for different eyesight, while a built-in stadiametric rangefinder gives an on-screen distance estimate from two marked points on the target, and an integrated laser pointer (auto-disabling after 10 seconds to protect the eyes) lets a user mark a spot out for the rest of the group. Six colour palettes, including Black Hot, White Hot and Iron Red, help pick out game and terrain in changeable conditions, and both fire detection and cold/hot spot trace add extra confidence when scanning a field. Still images and video record straight to a MicroSD card of up to 256GB, and built-in Wi-Fi pairs the unit with the Pixfra app so more than one phone can follow the same view. A 3,200mAh lithium-ion battery runs up to 7.5 hours, the housing is IP67-rated against dust and water, and at under 400g it is light enough to carry all night. Operating range is -30°C to +50°C.
