The Acme 535 is the original ultrasonic gundog training whistle, made in Birmingham by J. Hudson & Co, the firm that invented the silent dog whistle. A screw piston mechanism lets you adjust it across a single variable frequency between 5,200 and 12,800Hz, so you can tune the pitch to suit your own dog and lock in a consistent recall note. To the dog the sound is loud and clear, carrying up to 1.5km, yet it sits largely above human hearing, which is what earns it the "silent" label. No silent whistle is truly silent, though: the 535 produces a faint tone in the human range on purpose, reassuring you that a note is being blown and helping you judge command length. Special air directors keep the frequency tight, so the whistle generates real distance with minimal effort. Suitable for all breeds at close, medium and long-range work, it is a long-standing favourite for training gundogs and stalking dogs where a discreet, far-reaching recall matters. The body is solid brass, nickel-plated for durability, with a protective end cap.
