Underneath, a tougher fabric is fitted with small rubber studs so the mat stays put on a hard floor or a boot liner rather than sliding about, and a layer of padding cushions the dog against cold or uneven surfaces. At 1100g it is easy enough to lift in and out of a vehicle or roll up for storage between trips. It is machine washable on a gentle cycle, though it should not be bleached, tumble dried, ironed or dry cleaned, and is best washed with similar colours.
