The 28mm objective lens means it doesn't match the low-light reach of the 32mm or 42mm Diamondback HD models, so it's best thought of as a daylight glass for spotting and following quarry rather than a dawn-or-dusk optic. Against its closest sibling, the 10x28, the lower 8x magnification gives a genuinely wider 6.2° angular field of view (332ft at 1000 yards) and a larger 3.5mm exit pupil, making it easier to pick up and track moving game. Vortex's HD optical system pairs fully multi-coated lenses with dielectric prism coatings and phase correction for a sharp, contrast-rich, colour-true image. Eye relief is a generous 18mm, so it suits glasses wearers well. The body is argon-purged, O-ring sealed, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof, with ArmorTek-coated lenses and rubber armour.
