The Caldwell Tack Driver is a one-piece shooting rest bag that does the job of separate front and rear bags, supplied here filled and ready to use straight from the box. Settle a rifle into it on the bench and the self-tightening surface grips the stock, steadying your hold and soaking up a useful amount of felt recoil — handy when you are zeroing a stalking rifle ahead of the season or checking loads at the range. The non-marring, non-slip covering will not scuff or mark your rifle's finish, and the shape supports almost any rifle or shotgun type. Because it is a single bag rather than a pair, there is nothing to line up or chase across the bench between shots, and it works just as well from a makeshift position in the field as it does on a portable or permanent shooting bench. A shoulder carrying strap is included, so moving it between the vehicle, the bench and the zeroing range is no chore despite the weight of the fill.
