The Gehmann 558 Foresight Anti-Glare Tube is a fitment accessory for competitive smallbore and air-rifle foresights, designed to cut stray light around the sight element so the shooter gets a cleaner, more consistent sight picture. The tube has a matt finish to keep glare out, and offers two ways to fit: it push-fits directly onto earlier Gehmann irises that have no internal thread, or it can be screwed on, since it carries an internal thread that takes M18 accessories directly. To fit a Gehmann M18 foresight iris, it needs the separate 5018 collar, without which it will not seat correctly on the M18 iris thread. It also screws straight onto Gehmann's M18 and M22 foresight lenses with no adaptor needed. Shooters running Gehmann's M22 foresight range should choose the 558-22 variant instead, which is designed for M22 accessories and, like the M18 route, needs the matching 5022 collar to fit an M22 foresight iris. Light, simple and inexpensive, it is a useful addition for anyone looking to sharpen the sight picture on a Gehmann-equipped target rifle.
