The Gehmann 565 is a rearsight iris built for ISSF target rifle shooters who want full control over their sight picture in changing light. It combines Gehmann's patented 510 iris — infinitely adjustable from 0.5mm to 3.0mm — with a bank of six optically flat glass colour filters (yellow, light green, orange, purple, dark grey and light grey) and two independently adjustable polarising filters. The first polariser suppresses reflex rays and flicker; engaging the second lets you dial continuous light absorption from around 10% up to 90%, so brightness can be matched precisely to the range rather than swapped between fixed filters. A locking collar holds the 'V' datum mark exactly where it should be, laser-engraved graduations make settings repeatable, and matt black internal surfaces keep stray reflections out of the sight picture. It threads M9.5x1 onto all current precision target rearsights, and its removable steel thread means a Gehmann magnifying diopter, such as the -4.5 to +4.5 50309, can be retro-fitted later without buying a new iris.
