Gehmann's 523-18 is a short foresight tunnel for Olympic-discipline target rifles, built to the M18 thread standard used by Anschütz, Feinwerkbau, Grünig + Elmiger and Steyr foresight/rearsight systems (Walther rifles need a spacer to fit the base). At just 26mm long it is deliberately compact, so a shooter can fit a foresight iris on top and still stay within the I.S.S.F. overall length rule for 10m air rifle, smallbore and 3-position disciplines. It is threaded at both ends, taking an iris or lens on the front and fitting the rifle's foresight base at the rear, giving a flexible base unit that can be paired with whichever aperture or iris the shooter's discipline calls for. As a genuine Gehmann part it is built to the same spec as the rest of the maker's foresight range, so it fits straight onto a compatible rifle base without further work. A straightforward way to shorten a foresight setup or switch between iris configurations while staying within competition length rules.
