The BOG DeathGrip is a clamping tripod built for hunters who need a completely stable, hands-free rest for a rifle, shotgun or crossbow. This Realtree Excape camo version runs on lightweight aluminium legs rather than the carbon-fibre build of BOG's plain-finish model, keeping the tripod easy to carry into a hide or blind without giving up rigidity. The legs extend from 7in to 59in, so the same tripod works kneeling, sitting or lying prone as well as standing at full height, and a three-position leg-angle lock together with a built-in bubble level makes it quick to set level on uneven ground. Retractable steel foot spikes bite into soft or frozen ground for extra grip. At the head, BOG's patented DeathGrip clamp locks straight onto the stock or fore-end with a soft, non-marring rubber jaw, and a quick-release lever lets you loosen and reposition it in seconds. The head also pans a full 360 degrees with adjustable tension, so you can track a moving animal smoothly without shifting the tripod. At around 8.5lb it is solid enough to stay planted through the shot yet still portable for a walked-in stalk.
