Britannia Rails' Savage Axis/Edge rail is a UK-made Picatinny scope base engineered for Savage's short-action rifles with a round rear receiver - the Axis, the Edge, and the wider Model 10 to 116 family. Machined from T6 aluminium and finished in hard anodising, it clamps firmly onto the rifle's dovetail for a solid, play-free mounting platform. It's supplied at 0 MOA, giving a level mounting plane straight off the receiver rather than any built-in elevation. Fitting hardware is included: four 6-48 screws of two different lengths - one shorter screw at the front, three longer ones at the rear, to match the shallower front holes in the receiver - along with the correct T15 hex bit and a dose of Vibra-Tite anti-vibration threadlock to stop everything working loose under recoil. At 149mm long, it's a compact, no-nonsense base for anyone fitting a scope to a Savage short action. As with any rail bolting into an action, nip the screws up firmly rather than fully torquing them, and let the Vibra-Tite do the rest.
