The Caldwell Lead Sled Solo is a compact, single-gun version of the Lead Sled recoil-reduction system, built around a smooth pivoting elevation system that's controlled with one knob for fast, precise adjustment onto target. Its offset frame is shaped to take rifles with detachable magazines, including lever-action guns, without the magazine fouling on the rest. A heavy-duty spring between the frame members soaks up recoil on non-magnum calibres and takes the edge off even the hardest-kicking magnum rounds, while the weight tray holds one 25lb bag of lead shot to add the mass needed for stability. The front cradle is height adjustable and fitted with a fore-end strap that holds the rifle securely in place, so it stays put through recoil rather than climbing out of the rest. Built from heavy-duty steel, the Solo weighs approximately 14lb and measures 26in long by 18in wide, making it an easy rest to store and carry to the range for zeroing or load-development sessions.
