The Hornady Custom Grade Full-Length Size Die for 6.5 Creedmoor (.264) resizes fired brass to SAAMI minimum specifications, an essential first step for reloaders working up accurate, consistent loads in this popular long-range stalking and target cartridge. The Elliptical Expander is Hornady's key innovation here: compared to a conventional ball expander, it produces smoother neck sizing, reduces friction and minimises case neck stretch, with internal threading that keeps it securely positioned and removes the need for a separate expander die when necking up. The Elliptical Expander and headed decap pin attach to the Zip Spindle, a Custom Grade feature that locks positively to eliminate slippage. Light threads on both the spindle and spindle lock allow fine, repeatable incremental adjustments; alternatively, the spindle zips freely up or down for quick coarse positioning. The precision-machined and polished internal die profile ensures 6.5 Creedmoor cases travel through smoothly without sticking. The Sure-Loc lock ring clamps around the entire die body with even circumferential pressure — the locking screw does not contact the die threads, and built-in wrench flats make removal simple and damage-free.
