The Vortex Razor HD 12x50 is built for glassing at distance – the extra reach of 12x magnification and a 50mm objective make it a natural choice for scanning open hill ground or watching a treeline from a fixed position, best used braced or on a tripod given the higher power. HD extra-low dispersion glass and Vortex's XR Plus fully multi-coated lenses, paired with dielectric-coated, phase-corrected BaK-4 roof prisms, keep the image bright and colour-true well into failing light. The magnesium chassis is argon-purged and sealed against water, dust and fogging, and wrapped in rubber armour for a secure grip in the wet. A 10ft close focus is unusually short for a 12x binocular, useful when something moves close in cover. Twist-up eyecups, a locking diopter and a tripod-adaptable body make it easy to set up for a long static watch.
