The Vortex Recon R/T 15x50 is a compact tactical monocular built for long-range observation and manual range estimation — not a riflescope, despite "Scope" appearing in some older listings. At its core is Vortex's XD optical system with XR anti-reflective lens coatings, delivering a bright, high-contrast image at 15x magnification through a 50mm objective lens, with 16mm of eye relief and a 4.1° angular field of view. The R/T reticle uses MRAD-based subtensions plus quick-ranging silhouettes, letting you estimate distance to a target of known size without an external calculator. ArmorTek coating protects the exterior lenses from scratches, oil and dirt, while argon gas purging and O-ring seals keep the monocular waterproof and fogproof in the field. The rubber-armoured body is shockproof and tripod-adaptable via a 1/4"-20 thread, and a utility clip lets it be secured to a belt or webbing for rapid deployment. Supplied with a rain/dust hood, sport binocular adapter, Picatinny rail and flip-up objective lens cap, it suits stalkers, spotters and shooters who need fast, accurate range estimation in the field.
