Beretta's deluxe snap caps are purpose-made dummy rounds for 20-bore shotguns, supplied as a matched pair. Constructed from nickel-plated brass, they seat and chamber like a live cartridge but contain no propellant, powder or shot, making them safe for dry-fire practice, trigger-pull work and de-cocking after a day in the field. Firing on an empty chamber sends the strikers forward with nothing to absorb the blow; snap caps take that impact, protecting the firing pins and breech face from the repeated stress that causes metal fatigue over time. They are equally useful during long-term storage, where leaving the action closed on snap caps keeps the springs under normal tension rather than at full compression. Beretta's nickel-plated brass finish is durable and corrosion-resistant, handling repeated chambering without deforming. The correct Cal. 20 dimensions ensure a positive fit in any standard 20-bore shotgun chamber.
