Introduced in 1994 as Express's flagship game cartridge, the Supreme Game was developed to deliver consistent patterns and maintained velocity at the longer distances demanded by driven and walked-up shooting. Loaded in a true 65mm (2½in) case, it is specifically suited to Best English guns with short chambers that cannot safely handle standard 70mm loads — a detail that sets this cartridge apart from most competition fodder. The single-base progressive powder produces very low recoil and low chamber pressures even at 1,400fps, making it a comfortable choice for a full day in the field without battering the shooter or the gun. Shot charge is 28g of No.6 lead, formulated and sourced to Express's own specification from a specialist lead shot facility; antimony content, hardener levels, sphericity and surface finish are all checked during production, resulting in a tight, even pattern through a variety of chokes. Clean-burning felt wad completes the load and is compatible with traditional wadding restrictions on some shoots.
