The H&N Slug HP Sampler Set in .218 head diameter (.22 / 5.53 mm) is designed for PCP air rifle shooters looking to find the ideal slug weight for their barrel. Unlike conventional wadcutter or domed pellets, the Slug HP has a hollow-point bullet profile that delivers a significantly improved ballistic coefficient — the result is a flatter trajectory, better energy retention at distance, and consistent performance well beyond 50 metres. Because barrel twist rates and power levels vary between rifles, H&N supplies this set with an assortment of weights, letting you test each through your gun before committing to a full tin. Each slug is coated with a special lubricant to reduce barrel friction and is visually inspected and hand-packed by H&N for quality assurance. A minimum muzzle energy of 25 joules is required, and H&N recommend 40–60 joules for best results. Barrels with a faster twist rate specifically cut for slugs will produce significantly better groups at extended range.
