The Hi-Tec Bandera Expedition Mid Wide Boots in Smokey Brown/Khaki are the wide-fit version of Hi-Tec's mid-height walking boot, cut in an E fitting for feet that need more room across the forefoot and instep than a standard last allows. The suede and mesh upper is backed by Hi-Tec's Dri-Tec waterproof, breathable membrane, keeping feet dry over wet ground while still letting the boot breathe on the climb. A ghillie lacing system with rustproof hardware draws the midfoot in snug without pinching the wider fit, and the padded collar and tongue support the ankle through the mid-height cuff. Abrasion-resistant heel and toe caps protect against rock and root, a lightweight fork shank keeps the sole flexible yet stable, and a removable moulded EVA footbed sits on an impact-absorbing CMEVA midsole for cushioning that holds up over a full day's walking. The M-D Traction outsole is patterned to grip on both the climb and the descent. It is a Duke of Edinburgh's Award recommended boot, and a genuinely useful option for anyone who struggles to get a comfortable fit from standard-width hiking boots.
