Hornady Lock-N-Load Bullet Comparator Insert

This is a calibre-specific insert for the Hornady Lock-N-Load Bullet Comparator, the tool reloaders use to measure a cartridge from a fixed point on the bullet ogive rather than the soft, variable tip. The insert is a small bushing sized to a particular bullet diameter that seats into the comparator body, giving you a consistent reference surface against the bullet's curve. Fitted to a caliper, it lets you check seating-depth consistency from round to round and sort bullets by length to the ogive, both of which matter when you are chasing repeatable groups for deer stalking or target work. Each insert covers one calibre, with the range spanning from .172 up to .458, so you choose the size that matches the bullets you load. Note that the comparator body and your caliper are not included here and are required to use the insert. For handloaders who already run the Lock-N-Load system, adding the right insert is the simplest way to bring a new calibre into your measuring routine.
