The Hornady Lock-N-Load Bullet Comparator Body is the reloader's tool for measuring loaded rounds from the bullet ogive rather than the tip, where length can vary by as much as .025in from one round to the next. The body clamps onto the blade of your dial or digital calliper using a thumbscrew through its thicker leg, and accepts calibre-specific inserts that index off the ogive for a consistent, repeatable reference point. Inserts cover bullet diameters from .17 to .45 calibre and are sold separately, so you fit only those that match the cartridges you load. Paired with the Lock-N-Load Overall Length Gauge, the body aligns the gauge correctly so you can compare loads directly as you set seating depth and dial in bullet jump to the lands. It also lets you check the base-to-ogive uniformity of your bullets. Machined from aluminium and brass, it is a compact, durable addition to the loading bench for stalkers and target shooters chasing tight, repeatable handloads. Supplied as the comparator body only; inserts and calliper are not included.
