These are Hornady CX reloading bullets in .308in diameter, 165 grain, supplied as a 50-count box (item #304704) of component projectiles for the handloader rather than factory-loaded cartridges. CX stands for Copper alloy eXpanding: each bullet is machined from a single piece of copper alloy, so there is no lead core to separate on impact and Hornady rate weight retention at around 95% for deep, reliable penetration on game. The polymer Heat Shield tip resists aerodynamic heating to hold a consistent ballistic coefficient through the bullet's flight and gives a uniform meplat from bullet to bullet and lot to lot. Optimised groove geometry trims bearing surface and fouling while keeping the projectile flying cleanly. As a monolithic, lead-free design the CX is well suited to deer stalking where non-toxic ammunition is required or preferred, and carries enough construction for everything from medium game up to larger species. You will need your own brass, primers and powder to load these, and consult current Hornady load data for your .30-calibre cartridge.
