These are Hornady CX bullet heads in .308in diameter, 180 grain, supplied as reloading components in a box of 50 — not loaded ammunition. CX stands for Copper alloy eXpanding, a one-piece monolithic bullet with no lead core, so there is nothing to separate on impact and weight retention runs to around 95% for deep, reliable penetration on game. The polymer Heat Shield tip resists aerodynamic heating in flight and helps hold a consistent ballistic coefficient, while also giving every bullet a uniform meplat for better bullet-to-bullet and lot-to-lot consistency. Optimised groove geometry trims bearing surface and fouling without sacrificing aerodynamic performance. For the home loader chasing a lead-free hunting load, this 180gr weight suits .30 calibre cartridges such as the .308 Winchester and .30-06 and is well matched to medium and large game, making it a sound choice for deer stalking where copper, non-lead projectiles are required or preferred. You supply your own cases, primers and powder and work up a safe load to published data.
