The Hubertus Fiepblatter Acryl is a compact roe deer call from German maker Hubertus, made from robust acrylic and designed to imitate the doe's fiep (bleat) call during the roebuck rut. Cupped in the hand and blown in short bursts through the mouthpiece, it reproduces the calling sounds roe deer use, helping to draw a buck, doe or fawn within range on the stalk. An adjustment screw lets you vary the pitch between high and low notes, so the caller can work through the different fiep sounds to suit the situation. A moulded eyelet takes a lanyard or carrying cord, and a removable protective cap fits over the mouthpiece to keep dust and dirt off the reed between outings, so the call is ready to use straight from the rucksack. At roughly 60 x 22mm it is genuinely pocket-sized, and the acrylic body is more durable than a basic plastic moulding, built to take repeated seasons in the field. Colouring varies from piece to piece, ranging from pale marbled cream through to amber-red, so no two calls look quite the same. Supplied singly.
