The Hull LFA 20b High Pheasant is a lead-free steel-shot cartridge from Hull Cartridge's High Pheasant range, built for driven days where non-toxic shot is required. Loaded in a 70mm (2¾") case for 20 bore guns, each cartridge carries a 25 gram payload of No.5 steel shot over Hull's Hydro Wad — a biodegradable cup wad developed to protect the bore when firing steel shot and to help hold a tight, consistent pattern at range. Being 100% plastic-free, the wad breaks down naturally if left in the field rather than persisting as litter, and Hull say it leaves the barrels clean with no residue after a hot day's shooting. As a standard-performance steel load, it is built to give a fast, smooth shot with moderate recoil, making it a straightforward option for driven pheasant and mixed game shoots where lead cannot be used. Because steel shot behaves differently to lead through a barrel, shooters should always check that their gun is proofed for steel and that the choke fitted is suitable before use.
