The Leofoto MP-285C is a five-section carbon fibre monopod for supporting heavy optics and cameras where a full tripod is impractical — glassing from a hide, tracking a moving subject, or steadying a spotting scope on the hill. Built from cross-woven, reinforced carbon fibre, it extends to 1530mm and folds to just 433mm, weighing 412g, with legs tapering from 28mm to 17mm across five twist-lock sections for quick height adjustment. The upper leg section is wrapped in rubber foam, which keeps hands comfortable in cold field conditions. Rated to carry 15kg, it comfortably handles long lenses and mid-size spotting scopes, and the tripod plate's convertible 1/4in and 3/8in screw fits straight onto Leofoto's VH-10 ball head or most other camera and optics mounts. A shock-absorbing rubber foot grips securely underfoot and can be swapped for a stainless steel spike (sold separately) on soft ground, while a metal bracket and wrist strap guard against accidental drops. Included are a carrying bag, hex key and multitool, so the monopod is ready to use straight out of the box.
