The Real Steel E802 Horus Free is a compact EDC folding knife developed in collaboration with German designer Uli Hennicke, its name drawn from the Egyptian deity of the sky and hunting. The blade is forged from Sandvik 14C28N steel, running to 94mm with a distinctive sunset-bow curve along the spine that gives one of the longest cutting edges in its class. A smooth ball-bearing pivot and thumb stud make for effortless one-handed opening, while the liner lock, backed by an additional '101 safety' detent on the spine, keeps the blade secure in use. Handle scales are G10, available here in black and blue, held together by two large hollow-centred Torx screws that make stripping the knife down for cleaning straightforward without loosening its rigidity. At 218mm overall and 145g, it carries comfortably day to day, and two interchangeable deep-carry pocket clip positions let it be set up for left- or right-hand tip-up carry. A neat, well-finished folder for anyone who wants a serious EDC blade without the bulk.
