The Warne Maxima M902/879M is a two-piece Weaver-style steel scope base built specifically for the Weatherby Mark V Magnum action. It fits the Mark V Magnum's 9-lug receiver — but not the .240 Weatherby Magnum, the Mark V Standard 6-lug action, or the Vanguard, so it's worth checking your rifle's action type before ordering. Warne's Maxima steel bases are a step up from lighter alloy two-piece sets: each base carries a full-width recoil slot, giving the recoil control keys on Warne rings maximum bearing surface for a secure, repeatable mount under recoil. Finished in matte black to match most factory actions, the set is supplied with 6-48 mounting screws, and Warne recommend torquing them to no more than 25 in-lb.
