Wheeler's 72-piece Professional Gunsmithing Screwdriver Set is the mid-tier option in the range, built on the same research as the smaller sets: Wheeler's engineers measured the screws on over a hundred modern and antique firearms, from a Remington 700 to a Smith & Wesson revolver, to work out exactly which bits actually get used on the bench. It steps up the coverage from the smaller sets with an extensive range of hollow-ground flat bits, sized to fit slots from the finest sight and scope screws through to larger action screws, plus a complete selection of Phillips, Allen and Torx bits for scope bases, rings, recoil pads and other general fittings. The bits are hollow-ground rather than tapered, so they sit deep in the slot for a secure, non-slip fit. They're made from S2 tool steel, hardened to 56-58 Rockwell C, and the set includes two non-slip overmoulded handles for comfortable use. Everything sits in a hinged storage case with a bit location guide, keeping the set organised whether it lives on the bench or travels to the range.
