Birchwood Casey's Shotgun Brass Thread Adapter converts an 8-32 threaded cleaning rod to 5/16-27 thread, opening up a wider range of shotgun cleaning accessories — mops, brushes and slotted tips — that use the larger 5/16-27 fitting rather than the finer 8-32 thread most rifle cleaning rods carry as standard. It's a simple screw-on fitting: thread it onto the end of the rod and the larger-thread accessory then screws straight onto the adapter, with no tools needed and nothing to fettle.
