The Deerhunter Heat Inner Waistcoat in Deep Green is a battery-powered heated gilet designed for stalkers, beaters and fieldworkers who need sustained warmth in cold, static conditions. The integrated HEAT system connects to a standard USB powerbank (not supplied) via the inner pocket cable, and is activated with a single press of the control button on the chest. Three heat settings are clearly indicated by the built-in LED — red for high (55°C), green for medium (45°C) and blue for low (38°C) — allowing precise control throughout the day. The front zip closure and water-repellent surface treatment add weather resistance, while flexible stretch panels at each side maintain freedom of movement when climbing or glassing. Before washing, simply remove the powerbank, fit the protective cap to the port and the waistcoat goes safely into the machine. Deep Green is a neutral, field-friendly colour that layers cleanly under a shell jacket. Power bank is not included.

Great Value For Money and great at keeping you warm

Bought to reduce the number of layers needed to keep me warm/comfortable while sitting in a highseat or out on the quad feeding.

A shirt, a thin merino jumper, this gilet over the top and then a jacket is perfect for most outings. If its really cold, adding a thin fleece over the top of the gilet really traps the heat in and is perfect if your sitting still for a long time.

The fit is really good, I am 5'9, 11st6 with a 36" chest and a small is spot on. Its snug, not too bulky and not too restrictive around your armpits. The low neck reduces bulking up around your neck/under your coat which I find can happen when wearing multiple layers.

Operating the heating settings is very simple, connect the battery pack which can sit in the inside pocket and click your way through the heat settings which are indicated by the illuminated button changing colour. One thing to note, if you connect a large battery pack you cant help but notice its there so it might be best to use a thin low profile one for comfort.

The two heat pads across the back provide more or less instant heat once turned on and once you are up to temperature you can reduce the level of heat with another click of the button which sits bottom left of the gilet and which can be accessed by reaching under you external layer.

I think its a great value bit of clothing. The only reason I haven't given it a 5 star rating is because the illuminated button is so damn bright. Its fine if its fully covered under a jacket but if it gets exposed when you are out lamping, for example, its a small version of the Blackpool illuminations. I also think an extra heat pad on the front would really give a lot more thermal gain but in the context of its price tag it is more than adequate.
