The H&N Slug HP is a bullet-shaped hollow-point airgun slug built for high-power PCP air rifles, designed to hold its accuracy at distances well beyond 50 metres. Unlike a conventional diabolo pellet, its slug profile carries a high ballistic coefficient of 0.091, giving a flatter trajectory and far better energy retention downrange — exactly what you want when ranges stretch towards 100 metres on rabbits, corvids and other pest species. This tin holds 200 slugs in .22 calibre with a .217 (5.51 mm) head diameter, each weighing 21 grains and measuring 6.7 mm in length. The hollow point opens up on impact for clean, effective shots on quarry. A special lubricant coating reduces barrel friction, and barrels with a faster twist rate made specifically for slugs produce noticeably better results. H&N recommend a minimum muzzle energy of 25 joules, with 40–60 joules ideal — putting these firmly in FAC-rated air rifle territory in the UK. Every slug is visually inspected and hand packed, with the screw-on tin cushioned by foam pads for transport.
