The Caldwell E-Max Electronic Hearing Protection earmuffs combine active sound amplification with a low-profile ear cup that suits shotgun shooters and action shooters alike. Twin microphones pick up ambient sound and amplify anything below 85 decibels, so normal conversation, range commands and other environmental sounds stay clear and easy to follow while you shoot. The instant a sound crosses that 85-decibel threshold, the microphones shut off to protect your hearing from the shot itself, then switch straight back on afterwards. With one stereo microphone in each cup, the E-Max gives true stereo amplification, helping the wearer judge the direction a sound is coming from rather than just hearing that it happened. The ear cups measure 1.75in wide and fold down into a compact, collapsible package for the gun bag, while a padded headband keeps them comfortable through a long day on the clay ground or at the range. Power comes from two AAA batteries, not included, giving a 25 NRR rating of protection alongside genuinely useful amplification.
