The Caldwell Lead Sled FCX pairs the recoil-reducing weight system of the Lead Sled range with a joystick-style Fire Control mechanism, so the rifle can be nudged in any direction to align the crosshair precisely and then locked exactly on point. At 100 yards the control arm gives around 5ft of point-of-aim adjustment, which makes fine-tuning a group or dialling in a load far quicker than wrestling with sandbags. The two-piece frame and notched rear support let you set the overall length to suit the rifle, while a machined steel gear rack handles coarse elevation changes. A cast-aluminium weight tray takes up to approximately 75lb of lead, and a custom-fit weight bag is included, holding a further 50lb of lead shot for serious mass under recoil. The contoured rear support protects the stock's finish while the rest as a whole cuts felt recoil by up to 95%, making it a genuinely comfortable way to shoot magnum rifles for load development, zeroing or extended range sessions.
