The Birchwood Casey Trigger Lock is a straightforward combination trigger lock for securing a firearm when it's not in use, whether that's a rifle, shotgun or handgun kept at home or in the gun cabinet. Rather than relying on a separate key that can be mislaid, it uses a 3-dial combination that you set yourself, so unlocking it is simply a matter of dialling in your own numbers. A positive locking bolt engages through the trigger guard, and an adjustable ratchet system lets the bolt cinch down snugly regardless of the trigger guard's size and shape, so the lock sits firm rather than rattling loose. Rubber pads line the inside of the lock body where it contacts the gun, protecting the finish from the scuffs and scratches that bare metal would otherwise leave behind. Because the fit adjusts rather than being sized to one model, the same lock will do service across several guns in a household, making it a sensible, inexpensive addition to safe gun storage alongside a cabinet or safe.
