The Napier A1 Sodium Yellow Lens is a replacement or spare lens for the Napier A1000 shooting glasses frame. Sodium yellow is the low-light and poor-visibility choice in any clay or game shooter's lens set: the tint filters blue wavelengths from the light spectrum, which has the effect of heightening contrast and making targets stand out more clearly against grey or overcast skies. It is particularly useful on foggy or hazy days when a smoke or neutral lens would simply darken an already dim scene. Sodium yellow is also a popular choice for orange clay pigeons, as the tint can improve target visibility against variable backgrounds. The A1 designation refers to this being a single spare lens sold individually — it fits directly into the A1000 frame and can be swapped out alongside the other lenses in the A1000 range to suit changing light conditions during a shoot. If you regularly shoot in poor British weather, this is the lens that earns its place in the case.
