The Walther HLC1 is a rechargeable head torch built for anyone working after dark on the hill, in the wood or around the kennels — checking a gralloch site, walking dogs, or doing a last look round the yard. Its compact anodised aluminium body swivels in the headband mount, so a simple twist switches between a white beam (5, 40, 150 or 500 lumens), a red beam (1 or 25 lumens) for preserving night vision, and an emergency beacon flash. The Luminus SST40 LED throws light out to 100m on its top setting, and separate switches for white and red light keep operation simple with gloves on. A memory function brings the torch back on at whichever level was last used, and a low-battery warning fires once capacity drops below 25%. It runs on the supplied rechargeable 18350 Li-ion cell, charged via a Micro USB port in the IPX6 waterproof housing, and will also take a 16340 rechargeable or CR123 battery as a backup. The perforated headband and silicone pads keep it breathable and secure, and it lifts straight out of its holder for use as a handheld torch. Supplied with the 18350 battery, charging cable, MOLLE clip, lanyard and a spare seal.
