The Beretta 12 Gauge Shotgun Snap Caps are a pair of neutral-coloured dummy rounds for safely releasing the firing springs and dry-firing a 12-bore shotgun without the risk of damaging the firing pins or strikers. Leaving a shotgun with the springs under tension for extended periods can shorten their service life; these snap caps allow you to snap the action shut on dummy rounds before placing the gun in the cabinet, keeping the springs at rest. They are equally useful for testing ejector and extractor function, practising safe loading and unloading drills, and checking that the action cycles correctly after cleaning or servicing. The neutral colourway keeps them understated on the pegs and in the slip.
