Birchwood Casey Plum Brown Barrel Finish gives a rich, authentic old-style brown finish to original and replica firearms, and is well suited to restoring antique guns, muzzleloaders and other old metalwork. Instead of waiting weeks for a slow rust-browning process, results are immediate. The metal is heated to 275 degrees Fahrenheit, with a propane torch or in an oven, until the solution sizzles on contact, and the browning solution is then applied with cotton swabs. It cures to a durable, protective matte finish, and around 1 oz covers roughly one square foot. 5 fl oz bottle.
