Tru-Oil from Birchwood Casey has been used by professionals to finish gunstocks for more than 30 years. Its blend of linseed and other natural oils dries quickly, resists water damage and will not cloud, yellow or crack as it ages. As well as finishing the stock itself, it makes a good sealer beneath butt plates and recoil pads and inside inletted actions to help prevent damage to the wood. Apply with a finger or lint-free cloth and allow about 12 hours between coats. It can be thinned with mineral spirits, though this lengthens drying time, and it is not compatible with lacquer. 8 fl oz bottle.
